Monument for Helga Deen
Sculptor Margot Homan finished her monument to Helga Deen, the Jewish girl from Tilburg that was killed by the Germans.
Her name remained unknown for many people until a few years ago. It appeared the diary she wrote in “Kamp Vught”. The art work of Margot Homan is intended for the Helga Deen Garden, a small park next to the synagogue in the center of Tilburg.
Unveiling Sculpture Marga Klompé by Queen Beatrix Tilburg University
On November 9, 2012 Queen Beatrix revealed a bronze statue of the hand of Margot Homan in the Dante Building, University of Tilburg. It is a bust of Marga Klompé, the occasion of her 100th year of birth.

The sculpture, created by sculptor Margot Homan, was unveiled on November 12, 2012 by Ms. M.H.M. Gardeniers – Berendsen. It is the first female bust of a politician in the parliament building.

Tilburg, The Helga Deen Garden (at the corner of the street and the Willem II Telegraafstraat) The bronze sculpture ‘Togetherness’ by artist Margot Homan was revealed on monday. The artwork symbolizes survival, youth and hope and is inspired by the diary of Helga Deen. The sculpture is also a tribute to the perished Jewish fellow citizens.
Dies Natalis 2012: Strong Women
On Friday, November 9th, 2012 fourth Tilburg University celebrated her 85th anniversary. During the celebration the 100th birthday of Marga Klompé was also remembered, the first female minister of the Netherlands. The whole day was dominated by ‘strong women’. Both Queen Beatrix as the President of Liberia Ellen Johnson Sirleaf visited Tilburg University.
