Exhibition Margot Homan, Poen de Wijs en Meg den Hartog

Sunday, January 25 to Sunday, March 1st, 2015

It is my pleasure to invite you to the opening of the exhibition of Margot Homan, Poen de Wijs and Meg den Hartog, in Gallery De Twee Pauwen, Oranjestraat 1 in The Hague on Sunday, January 25th at 15:00.

This exposition arose following discussions between Lucas van Hasselt (owner of De Twee Pauwen) and Poen in the last weeks of his life. It seemed a good opportunity to have one last exhibition, with Margot Homan, his artistic soul mate, and Meg den Hartog, his pupil and colleague. Ruud Lapre, will open the exhibition. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Invitationtext Gallery De Twee Pauwen:
Much has been written about the sculptures of Margot Homan, parades wonderful descriptions, profound observations and lyrical outpourings in articles, catalogs and books.

Yet the essence of her work remains too often hidden, especially since we do look at sculptures, recognize, appreciate or reject, but do not experience them in their entirety. We rarely see them dearly and look too little interaction and visual contact with them. Our time for interaction and contact is alas limited. To see intimately takes time.

He, who owns a sculpture of Margot Homan, knows that such a sculpture is not a something, but a someone. Between man and the sculpture can arise an ineffable magic.

The sculptor, who can accomplish this, we may call exceptional gifted.
